Healthy Shamrock Shake – Mint Smoothie Recipe

I love a McDonald’s Shamrock Shake, and every season I will treat myself to at least one. However, since starting my health journey, they are definitely not something I want to have all the time. So, whenever they are out of season or I am craving them more than I should be – I make this delicious mint smoothie recipe instead!

What You’ll Need

  • 3 Frozen Pears ( I find it easier to cut the pears into chunks before freezing)
  • 1/2 Cup Vanilla Greek Yogurt
  • 1 Cup Baby Spinach
  • 1/2 Cup Milk of Preference (I like a vanilla flavored almond milk)
  • 5-10 Fresh Mint Leaves (To taste)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Optional Additions:

  • Ice (If you want a thicker shake)
  • Maple Syrup for extra sweetness
  • Whipped Cream for topping!

Just blend all ingredients together and then you have yourself the perfect Shamrock Shake copycat!

To personalize it a bit, you can add whatever fruits and sweeteners you want. I really like pears because they don’t change the color too much, and the flavor isn’t super overpowering. I feel like when I use bananas in smoothies that’s all I can take!

I also think that adding as many vanilla elements as possible (yogurt, milk, extract) really helps it get that Shamrock Shake flavor since the McDonald’s ones use a vanilla shake as the base.

I love topping mine with whipped cream just to make it feel like an extra special treat!

Let me know if you try out this mint smoothie recipe for the perfect St. Patrick’s Day sweet treat without the guilt!
